MARCH 2026
Globus Hystericus offers a 60-hour training in the principles of physical theater. Rooted in the pedagogical lineage of Jacques Lecoq, this training explores the fundamentals of performance from a physical perspective, centering on the human body and its relationship to the space around it. It presents a unified method of creating stage material and offers participants the opportunity to expand their performance capabilities.
Neutral mask
Through work with the neutral mask, participants develop a strong physical awareness and a clear understanding of how movement communicates meaning. This practice increases stage presence and at the same time heightens awareness of habitual movement patterns, pointing toward new possibilities.
Mimodynamics
As the collective ability to analyze movement increases, so too does the opportunity to go beyond those habitual movement patterns. Through mimodynamics—observing and imitating physical forces of nature—participants playfully engage non-habitual physical qualities and, with guidance from the teachers, expand their expressive range.
Creating original stage material
Using the information provided by the neutral mask and mimodynamics, participants examine the fundamental elements of theatrical creation, such as action–reaction, group movement, character development, voice, and playfulness. In this process, they create original stage material through a physical rather than intellectual approach and rediscover how to make lively and vital theater.
